X

After an article is published, the X agent writes one thread and up to 4 single posts in your brand voice. Every post is checked before it can go out. By default, posts wait on the Distribution page for your approval. Posting goes through your own X developer app, so X bills that app directly. Without an X app you can still post by hand with Open in X, for free.

What the agent writes

The thread is posted as a reply chain. The first post can carry the article's first image. Links get UTM tags so you can see X traffic in your analytics.

Checks on every post

A post may go out only when every check passes:

• 280 characters or fewer, counting each link as 23.
• No em dashes and no AI-slop phrases.
• At most 2 hashtags.
• No @mentions (a wrong handle tags a stranger).
• A link only where your link setting allows it.
• Product numbers only from your approved product facts.

If a post fails, the agent asks the writer to fix it. Posts that still fail never go out.

Connect X (5 minutes, once)

1. Open the X Developer Console and create an app. X bills this app for API posts, about $0.015 a post and $0.20 a post with a link. Check X for current prices.
2. In the app's User authentication settings, turn on OAuth 2.0, type Web App, permissions Read and write.
3. Add the Callback URL exactly as shown in Settings > X (Twitter). It ends in /api/x/callback.
4. Copy the OAuth 2.0 Client ID and OAuth 2.0 Client Secret into Settings and click Save.
5. Click Connect X and approve the app in X.

The card then shows Connected as @yourhandle. To switch accounts, click Reconnect X. To stop, click Disconnect. Scheduled posts wait until you connect again.

Settings

Open Settings > X (Twitter).

Tip: Keep links only in the last post. Each X post with a link costs about 13 times more through the API.

Review and approve posts

Open Distribution in the site menu. Posts are grouped as To review, Scheduled, Posted and Skipped.

For each post you can:

• Edit the text and click Save changes. The checks run again on save.
• Set Post at (your local time) and click Approve and schedule.
• Click Post now, Unschedule or Skip.
• Click Open in X to open X with the first post filled in and post it yourself, for free. For a thread, add the next posts as replies.
• Posted it by hand? Paste the link under Posted it by hand? Save the link.

On a ticket, click Write X posts to create posts by hand, or Rewrite X posts to start over.

Auto-post

Turn on Post by themselves at the scheduled time when you trust the posts. Posts that pass the checks are scheduled and go out by themselves. Posts that fail a check never go out.

Warning: Start with approval on. Read a week of posts, add lessons for tone, then switch to auto-post.
